Went as a group of five yesterday and had a fantastic meal at Matsudai Ramen. The ramen was absolutely delicious, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was lively, relaxed and informal. I'm not a ramen expert, but it's certainly the best ramen I've tasted. The karaage mushroom was also incredibly moreish and disappeared very quickly! It's clearly a very popular place, and it's easy to see why. The food was excellent, service was great, and the whole experience felt warm and enjoyable from start to finish. We also spotted food critic Jimi Famurewa there when we arrived, which can't be a bad sign! I would certainly recommend it and am already looking forward to returning. My only wish is that they might consider allowing well-behaved whippet woofers in the future, as I'd love to visit more often with mine. Yummy, relaxing, full of character, and definitely worth a visit.
We had to wait for about 45 min to get served. After 15 min I asked if we can place an order. Staff totally overwhelmed. Not enough staff to take orders and pay attention to customers. My boyfriend ordered two side dishes and I one Ramen. One side dish came and the rest about 20 min later. The food taste was nice though. After we ordered the bill, I told the personal that we were not happy with the long waiting time. Nevertheless 12.5% service charge were included on the bill (very smart, since I didn't dare to ask to remove it - lesson learned for next time)
A Well Recommended Ramen House in Cardiff. My son has a bad egg allergies but did tolerated their noodles. It was tasty and really good! We enjoyed our family meal out. Services were good too. Definitely we will go back. Only comment is with the ambience, it looks sad and outdated…
Having enjoyed ramen in both the UK and Japan, I can safely say that Matsudai are the best outside of Japan. The kits they provide are finely crafted and offer an authentic taste for those who miss the flavours of ramen, or looking to introduce themselves to the dish. Customer services is also fantastic. I cannot recommend them enough.
Love coming to Matsudai. They always do the BEST ramen, and I’m obsessed with their crispy mushroom. Safe to say I’m a returning customer and usually eat here once every 3-4 months for a date night 😍🙌🏻
