Run by the team behind neighbouring Vivo Amigo, it folds curry sauces into Italian plates, a saag aloo calzone and a butter chicken pasta that sound improbable and work.

went here today for a spontaneous lunch, the service from vikram/vikrum was amazing, he was attentive to us from the start and made sure everything was well on our end. the food was absolutely amazing, we ordered the beef pizza, sausage beef pasta, and the paneer madras pasta; all were cooked so well - we also got dessert, the tiramisu and baked cheesecake. the virgin mojito was soooo good! thank you so much for the service, we’ll definitely be back soon!
One of the best spots in Cardiff. It gives you the rustic italian vibes and taste but the indo-italian menu is spectacular. My favourite was the pizza to be honest. The closest I had to a thin crispy flavourful pizza was in Croatia and this came to a close second. The interior is immaculate, albeit intimate and perfect for a date night. The music was interesting to be honest and the waiter kept disappearing for a while, so if you need something you'll have to be patient. Tiramisu was also a little bland and needed some more coffee sorry! Nonetheless, definitely coming back again!
Absolutely incredible experience at Stella Italia! From the moment I walked in, everything was perfect — the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the delicious food. Every bite was full of flavour, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can tell they put love into what they do. The service was fast, warm, and welcoming. They have best pizzas in the Cardiff definitely try it and also their tiramisu was so delicious best dessert ever. If you’re thinking about trying this place, don’t hesitate — it’s a hidden gem and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
Any negative review for this restaurant somehow goes to the Mexican one next door. Both are run simultaneously by the same owner, staff and kitchen. My review below was for an Italian side of the kitchen, for this reason I am reposting it with a hope that those looking for an Italian meal can read it. There it goes. Had a table booked for Valentines dinner at 6 pm. The restaurant was not busy. We got a lovely warm place by a radiator, as we required. We ordered prawn and calamari for starters, prawn spaghetti and buttered chicken penne for the main course. My son had the prawn dinner and it was pleasant. My penne however was stodgy and overcooked, I could only manage to eat half of my portion, I did appreciate the flavour though. I did mention this to an attentive waiter. The dessert of cheesecake and tiramisu was nice 🙂 Tap water had a strange smell and taste to it, a slice of lemon in a jar could rectify the problem. We drank moktails, they were lovely. As I was waiting for my dessert, I felt heavy, as if I had a meal of rocks. The penne and chicken refused to digest. On the way home I started feeling more digestive discomfort. 8 hours after the meal, I was glad that I was home and close to my bathroom. It's 4 am now, and I still cannot sleep, waiting for my stomach to settle. The only other thing I had to eat yesterday was a croissant with coffee 😔 I just wanted to treat myself and my son to an Italian meal on a special day. The day became special for a different reason unfortunately. 😔 All in all, a confused restaurant, Mexican? Indian? Definitely not Italian. With bad food hygiene and very overpriced for what it's got to offer.
What a gem of a place! A fusion of 2 of my favourite cuisines! Went on a Wednesday early evening. Service was impeccable, food was glorious! Cannot recommend it enough! And as an added bonus you can order from the restaurant next door which is a Indian mexican fusion restaurant. For starters we ordered chilli paneer tacos, veg and paneer rolls, brie bites, garlic dough balls and cheese naan bites. All were delicious and moreish. Kids has a garlic bread with cheese which was a pizza in itself and a margherita which was lovely and soft. For our mains we ordered a chilli paneer pizza, paneer makhni calzone and a saag paneer pasta. The pizza's were one of the best I've had in a while. Dough was toasted at the bottom yet soft and fluffy on the top. Personally the saag paneer wasn't for me (I don't like cooked spinach) That chilli paneer pizza was a revelation! It's must try dish!!!! For deserts we got 2 ice creams in a waffle cone for the kids, a warm croissant with gelato and tiramisu. All were lovely, although we were all full from the mains! Would have been nice to a few Indian/Italian fusion deserts (ras malai gelato, gulab jamun or jalebi cheesecake, masala chai tiramisu or cannolis) Will highly recommend you go here and I for sure will be going back!
