A steakhouse built entirely around the quality of the meat, with a ribeye regulars rate among the best in the city and a kitchen that keeps sides simple so the beef does the work.

Had an amazing meal at Pasture Cardiff. I went for the 700g tomahawk steak and it was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly, full of flavour and easily one of the best steaks I’ve had. Everything from the food to the service and atmosphere was spot on. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the whole place had a really nice feel to it. There was a live DJ which added to it all. My partner Cherie and I had a brilliant evening and genuinely couldn’t fault anything. It felt like a proper special meal from start to finish. Would definitely recommend Pasture if you’re in Cardiff and love a good steak. We’ll absolutely be back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We came here for our birthday celebration and had such a great experience. Nate was absolutely amazing and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. He took the time to show us all of the different cuts of meat, explaining each one in detail, including the flavours and what made them unique. It really helped us choose and made the whole experience feel much more personal. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the service was outstanding. We'll definitely be coming back the next time we're in Wales. Highly recommended!
OVERVIEW A very good steakhouse—worth a visit! ADVICE * To avoid disappointment, reserve a table from 18:00 onwards. PLUS + The ‘Sirloin’ steak was of premium quality, with a slight grass-fed flavour. + The ‘Fire Roasted Carrots’ stood out as a 5* side, perfectly complemented by crunchy chickpeas, curry aioli, and garlic pesto, delivering rich, layered flavours. + The staff were welcoming and genuinely friendly. Bert’s menu recommendations lived up to expectations and were based on genuine advice rather than formality. + The restaurant interior had a cosy yet upscale tone, fitting for the calibre of steaks provided. NEUTRAL +/- The ‘Short Rib Croquettes’ were meltingly tender, but overly salty; however, they paired well with the gochujang aioli. +/- The ‘Spinach Gratin’ tasted great but was overly cheesy and did not complement the upscale steakhouse or its steaks, leaning towards a casual comfort side. MINUS - The restaurant could provide a QR code self-payment option at each table for quicker, hassle-free service. ORDER HISTORY Bread & Nibbles: * Short Rib Croquettes Steaks: * Sirloin (200g) * Ribeye Sides: * Fire Roasted Carrots * Spinach Gratin Sauces: * Beef-fat Béarnaise
Absolutely fantastic service waiters are smiling and in great spirits, really clean and busy place, doesn’t stop service speed, can’t praise waiters and their job quality enough. Food and drinks wooooow worth every penny. I would highly recommend this place, but pre booking would give you better seating but there is plenty outdoor space if looking for enjoying busy streets and beautiful views. You will not regret it. ( by better seats I mean more intimate atmosphere but we still got good table )
Went here for a date night and we're blown away by the quality of food and service. We had the short rib croquettes and fried squid for starters, both were delicious. Then we had a porterhouse steak to share between us. It was cooked beautifully to our taste. Our favourite part of the meal were the fire cooked carrots. These were incredible. They were topped with seeds and fried chickpeas to add a beautiful contrast in texture and flavour combination. The wine was delightful and Harri did a fantastic job with service. Told the story of the restaurant really well and was attentive without being over bearing. If you want some fantastic food in a great setting, that uses all local ingredients and suppliers, you couldn't go wrong with Pasture.
